SUSTAINABLE HARVESTING:
ANTARCTIC KRILL
We are proud the krill harvested for New Life Spectrum® is certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) — the world’s leading certification program for commercial fisheries and seafood. The MSC is an international non-profit organization founded to safeguard seafood supplies for the future. Only fisheries meeting their strict standards earn the blue MSC label by ensuring resources are caught at levels that allow populations and the ecosystems on which they depend on to remain healthy and productive for the future. New Life Spectrum® uses whole krill sustainably harvested off the coast of Antarctica — an area virtually free of environmental pollution — using a method that eliminates invasive net trawling.
MARINE SCIENCE EDUCATION:
FROST SCIENCE MIAMI
We believe that fostering an appreciation off our beautiful, delicate oceans, lakes and river ecology is key to developing the next generation as good stewards of our aquatic environment and resources. We are proud that Miami’s own Frost Science feeds New Life Spectrum® to aquarium population and contribute to it’s mission of oceanic conservation, education and research. Allowing them to foster lifelong interest in marine science not only creates a generation of stewards for our blue planet, but a generation of conscientious aquarists as well!
MARINE CONSERVATION RESEARCH: OCEANIC INSTITUTE
Oceanic Institute, an affiliate of Hawai’i Pacific University, is a not-for-profit research and development organization dedicated to marine aquaculture, biotechnology, and coastal resource management. Among other things, their mission is to develop and transfer economically responsible technologies to foster domestic breeding of reef fish in high-demand within the aquarium hobby, relieving pressure due to over-harvesting and promoting sustainable use of ocean resources. New Life works with OI, helping to provide quality Spectrum aquarium nutrition to reduce mortality, increase breeding vigor and help support larvae.
